Hi there. I’m Megan from Orvis Customer Service. Since no one has answered your question yet, I did a little research for you, and here’s what I found out:

I suggest either the Battenkill Bar Stock or the Battenkill Large Arbor Trout (better drag). Both are light and should match up with that rod nicely.

The 8'6" is made to fit in more spots than the 9 footer. It's more like the old style rod sizes.
