Perfect for cooler weather, our heavyweight, Vintage Moleskin jeans, more robust than our famous Ratcatcher moleskins, are tough, yet still manage to be remarkably soft and comfortable. Cut in our classic five-pocket jean style and prewashed for softness and a gently broken-in look, our cotton/poly-blend trousers feature patch pockets in back, front scoop pockets, and a watch pocket. Rugged brass zip. Contrasting KHP canvas interior waistband. Jeans in dark brown. 82% cotton/ 18% polyester. Washable. Men's jeans in even waist sizes: 32-44. Plain finished up to 35" at no extra charge.

I have been looking for similar things, was looking at these pants, and had somewhat the same reaction. So, if you want pleats, perhaps something a bit dressier, but still very soft, you might try looking at the "Ratcatcher" moleskin pants. They come in several colors, have a soft fabric, and yes, there is even an option for a pleated front (which you can tell your wife others also enjoy and seek out).
