1. Start cleaning by wetting the cork with warm water use your fingers to apply the water thoruoghly on the cork surface

2. Apply a generous amount of dishwashing liquid (e.g. Fairy Ultra) to the wet cork grip and rub up and down with the hand. This procedure will remove a lot of the water soluble dirt. Wash and rinse with water.

3. Residual dirt can be removed by "Abrasive Cleaning swamps" developed for dry cleaning (like with a rubber eraser) of surfaces (from wallpapers to plastic) for household purposes

This procedure will make look even the oldest cork grip like new and still not produce an scratches on the surface

We suggest you use denatured alcohol and a clean rag to clean the cork and reel seat fittings.
