I think it is 17. 3 on each side of the lower part; 3on each side of top; kangaroo pocket on back; inside I think there is 4.

The top two breast pockets measure 6" X 7 1/4". The bottom two pockets measure 7 1/2" X 9 1/4".

This item has one pocket on the rear. It is a kangaroo pocket that is the width of the back of the vest.
It has two vertical entries to the pocket, one on each side.
This rear pocket measures 16" wide and 8 1/4" tall.
There are two lower interior pockets.
The one on the lower left side is 5" x 5". The pocket on the lower right side of the vest is 8" tall and 6" wide.
